The image from this angle shows the landmark of Dresden – the Zwinger. The pavillions, galleries and the Kronentor (Crown Gate) were built in the early 18th century on the base of former defence fortifications. Originally used as a place of festivities and as an orangery, the Zwinger today homes parts of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Dresden State Art Collection).
